I started my driving school because I knew that, after nearly 40 years of experience as a traffic reporter, I had something new to offer that would actually redefine what really makes a teenage driver "safe". And, after all, that's what Driver's Ed should really be all about, right?

 

So, how DO you create a safe teenage driver?  Oddly enough, when asked to define "safe" as it pertains to teenage drivers, you'll find most people struggle to come up with anything other than vague and ambiguous language about distracted driving, not speeding, etc. All true, but short of the bottom line.

 

If you want the answer to what makes teenagers safe drivers, look no further than a parent's greatest fear: getting the phone call that their child has been hurt—or worse—in a car crash.

If you break it down, keeping teens safe really means keeping them from getting hurt... and if you don't want them to get hurt, you better teach them how to stay out of wrecks. 

 

So, I developed a curriculum focused on 'Collision Avoidance'... incorporating common sense strategies that are easy to apply and keep teens from getting into situations that I see cause wrecks every day. In fact, we teach our students how to avoid the common mistakes drivers make that cause the overwhelming majority of the wrecks I see. Seriously!
