Our Driving School And The Kansas Graduated Drivers License

Because We Are A State Certified Driving School, We Provide The Written And Driving Tests So Your Student Can Acquire All Their Permits And Restricted Licenses Without Having To Take The Tests At The Drivers License Office*.

Here Are The Basics Of How It Works:

*Although not required, the Drivers License Office reserves the right to administer a written and/or driving test to any applicant at any time

  • State Issued Instruction Permit at 14 - Driving with licensed adult 21 or over.

    • At the end of our Classroom Session your student will receive a "Driving School Instruction Permit" that may be exchanged for the State Issued Instruction Permit at the Drivers License Office without having to take the written test*.  (See the "Must Know" page for more information on Permit Requirements)

  • Restricted License at 15 - To or from work; To or from school on days when school is in session, over the most direct and accessible route between the licensee's residence and school of enrollment for the purposes of school  attendance, may not transport any non-sibling minor passengers.

    • Completion of a Driving School Course is required for this restricted license. Once our driving school course has been completed, your student will be presented with a "Certificate Of Completion" that, once the one year State Issued Permit requirement has been met, the student may exchange at the Drivers License Office for this restricted license without having to take the driving test*. Certain practice driving requirements must be met as well. (See "Must Know" for more information)

  • Restricted License at 16 - Anywhere from 5am to 9pm; anytime going to or from work; anytime going to or from authorized school activities; directly to or from any religious worship service held by a religious organization; no more than one non-sibling passenger under the age of 18.

    • As with the Restricted License at 15, our "Certificate Of Completion" may be exchanged at the Drivers License Office for the 16 Year Old Restricted License. Practice driving requirements apply here as well.

  • Unrestricted License at 17 - Full driving privileges.

    • Our "Certificate Of Completion"can also be exchanged for this license as indicated above, provided certain practice driving requirements have been met.
